Hem Pal Singh

Dr. Hem Pal Singh passed away on October 7, 2026, in San Jose, California, surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old.

Born and raised in Nathpur village in the Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh, India, Dr. Singh was an exceptionally bright individual who pursued his passion of teaching with dedication. His love for education and academic excellence led him to earn a doctorate in Soil Science from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar.

Dr. Singh devoted his professional life to teaching, research, and higher education at Pantnagar University, where he eventually served as the Head of the Department of Soil Science before retiring. He took immense pride in his association with the university, which remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Above all, Dr. Singh was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years; his three sons, Pushpendra, Narendra, and Vikas; his daughters-in-law, Mollika Majumdar, Ashu Khare and Bhavna Rajput; and his cherished grandsons, Soumil Rajput (20), Arjun Rajput (14), Abhijay Rajput (12), and Aryash Rajput (11).

Dr. Singh will be remembered for his intellect, dedication to education, strong family values, and the love and guidance he shared with those around him. His legacy will live on through his family, his students, and the many lives he touched.
