In Loving Memory of Monique Nga V. Nguyễn
Monique Nga V. Nguyễn, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, in San Jose, California, at the age of 88.
Born in 1938 in Hà Nội, Việt Nam, to Ông Bà V. Ngọc Trân, Nga was the eldest of fifteen children. From an early age, she embraced the values of faith, family, perseverance, and service—values that would guide her throughout her life.
Nga’s life was defined by her deep and steadfast Catholic faith, remarkable resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. During the difficult years following the fall of South Vietnam, she and her family fled Vietnam as “boat people,” seeking safety and a better future. They first found refuge in France before eventually settling in the United States in 1980.
Starting over in a new country required tremendous courage, sacrifice, and determination. Through every hardship, Nga remained steadfast in her faith and committed to building a better life for her family. Her strength and perseverance became the foundation upon which generations of her family would grow and flourish. The beautiful life her family enjoys today is, in no small measure, part of the legacy she created through her courage, love, and sacrifice.
Nga leaves behind her beloved husband, Nguyễn Quang, with whom she shared a life built on family, faith, and devotion.
Her memory will live on through her four children: Kim-Ngân (and husband Ashwath Shridhar), Quân, Kim-Chi (and husband Alistair Murray), and Anh-Thư (and husband Bảo-Long Nguyễn-Trọng).
She is also survived by her beloved sisters:
Vũ Thị Liễu
Vũ Thị Quế
Vũ Thị Nhung
Vũ Ngọc Quỳnh
Vũ Thị Hảo
Vũ Ngọc Long
Vũ Thị Ngọc
Vũ Thị Oanh
Vũ Thị Tuyết Lan
Nga was a proud and loving grandmother to her four grandchildren: Tuấn, Sona, Thanh-Long, and Bảo-Sơn. Her love for them was a cherished part of her life, and the lessons she passed down will continue through them and the generations to come.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, quiet strength, courage in the face of adversity, and, above all, her boundless love for her family.
May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of God, reunited with those who went before her.
Xin Chúa đón nhận linh hồn Monique Nga V. Nguyễn vào Nước Trời.
May she rest in eternal peace.
