Alice Cooper passed into heaven on June 26, 2016 at the age of 92. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Cooper, and is survived by her children, Katie Parrish (John) of Seattle, WA, John Cooper (Jan) of Los Altos, CA, Marjorie Read (Robert) of Placerville, CA, Susan Cooper-McBride (David) of Naples, CA, as well as 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was born Alicia Estela Lopez in Los Angeles, daughter of Rosa Maria and Dr. Ramon Lopez, and was raised in Brawley, CA, where her father ran a medical clinic serving the poor. After graduating from high school, she attended University of Southern California and later worked at Lockheed Corporation where she met her husband, Robert J. Cooper.

In 1956 Alice moved with her family to Santa Clara Valley where she remained until her passing. Throughout her life Alice was active in church, with schools her children attended and with various philanthropic organizations. She also enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, watching college football games and other sports. But mostly, Alice is remembered by her family and friends as always thinking of ways to help others, for the smile you could hear in her voice and for a wonderful giggle which never seemed to age. A Celebration of Life will be held for Alice at Sacred Heart Church in Saratoga on August 20th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family prefers donations be made in her name to Carmelite Monastery at 1000 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara 95050.
