Born June 6, 1922 in Boston, MA and went to be with the Lord January 10, 2019.
Son of Francis Stewart Breed and Elizabeth Maud Robinson.  He was married to Rebecca Russell Breed for 63 years prior to her death in 2012. Father to Russell (Lynette), Calvin (Jane), and Elizabeth (Eric).  Grandfather to Joshua (Sarah) and; Hayley and Kelsey Valeri.  Uncle to Jim, Ken, Ed, and Sally Crompton.

Allen attended Admiral Farragut Academy and Northeastern University.  During WW II Allen survived the sinking of the USS Quincy at Guadalcanal.  Following WW II he graduated from Worchester Polytechnic Institute where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, Tau Beta Pi and Skull.  He spent 36 years working for General Electric on locomotives and later in nuclear power with the family traveling to Japan prior to returning to California.  As a resident of Saratoga for nearly 50 years, he was active with Saratoga Historical Foundation, Hakone Gardens and Saratoga Sister City (Muko-shi, Japan). Member of Sons of the American Revolution and Breed Family Association. He was a Mason being raised in North East Lodge #399 in PA and was active in the Shriners where he was Commodore of the Asiya Shrine Yacht Club, President of the Sunnyvale Shrine Club, Director of Comics and member of the Jesters.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Northern California (http://shrinerschildrens.org/about-us/ways-to-give/donatetoday/) or to the Hakone Foundation (www.hakone.com).  Private burial will be at Madronia Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life and reception will be held at the Saratoga Federated Church on January 22, 2019, at 2:30 p.m.
