Angela Bacquet died peacefully in her sleep in Cupertino, California, on October 20, 2024, at age 93. Angela was born on September 27, 1931, in Santiago, Chile; daughter of Juvenal Mujica and Nicolasa Pacheco Diaz. As a young girl she attended French school. Angela was tri-lingual, speaking French, Spanish and English.

Angela married Emmanuel Paul Bacquet on February 15, 1952, after meeting him at her sister's wedding; Emmanuel's Brother Eduardo had married Angela's Sister, Oriana.

When her husband passed, Angela immigrated to the United States in January 1995 and has lived with her daughter Nicole, and son-in-law Marty for 30 years. She became a Naturalized Citizen in 2003 and was very proud to be an American.

When Angela's granddaughter Natasha was adopted from Russia, Angela soon became known as "Babu"… short for Babushka, meaning grandmother in Russian. All of Natasha's friends knew her as "Babu." When Natasha's son Raiden was born in 2022, one of his first words was "Babu." Angela was instrumental in raising Natasha to be the beautiful young woman she is today.

Angela always enjoyed cooking for the Family, scrapbooking, and creating her arts and crafts. She was a member of the "Coffee of the French Ladies" group for decades, enjoying monthly gatherings with friends, good food, and of course, great wine. Angela was a member of St. Joseph's of Cupertino Church.

Angela is survived by her daughter, Nicole Gunther; son-in-law, Marty Gunther; son, Pol Bacquet; daughter-in-law, Sylvette Bacquet; granddaughter, Natasha Gunther; grandsons, Jean-Pol Bacquet and Eric Bacquet; granddaughter-in-law, Jeannely Arias-Bacquet; great-grandson, Raiden Santana; and great-granddaughter Emma Bacquet.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Angela's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
