Mr. A. Narayanaswami, affectionately known as Cupertino Swami, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on January 5, 2020 in Mountain View, California. Narayanaswami was born to Annaswami and Sarada in Devakottai, Tamil Nadu on August 16, 1927.

Married to his dear wife Radha in 1952, he built a successful career at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, serving as deputy general manager. After retiring from BHEL, he became the general manager of a private transportation logistics company in Chennai. In 1992, heeding to the call of his beloved children, he left it all behind and moved to the U.S.

He was a man who loved life, both his own and those of everyone around him. He brought diverse people together, built new communities in a foreign country, and served as an infinite source of knowledge to all. He enjoyed leading programs for seniors like FOSWL (Friends of the Same Wavelength) at the India Community Center, advising others on immigration and social/medical insurance needs, traveling the world in the company of friends, and spending cherished time with his family.

Predeceased by his wife, Radha in 2002, he is survived by his loving children, Prasad, Gomathi, and Pasupathy, his grandchildren Viba, Ananth, Vinay, Amit, Vikram, and Ashwin, son in law Ram Subramaniam and daughter in law Jayashree.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at 8:30 AM at the Alameda Family Funeral Home at 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga, CA 95070. Program will be as follows:

• 9:00am to 10:15am Eulogies
• 10:15 to 10:30am Viewing
• 10:30 onwards Hindu Cremation Ceremony (Family only)
