Audrey was truly one of God's special people, and He took her back to Himself on March 18, 2017.   Audrey was a true Christian in every sense of the word, and she lived her faith every day of her life. Everyone who knew Audrey loved and respected her.

Audrey is survived by her husband John, her daughter Margo (Hubie), her son Timothy (Julia), and her granddaughter Olivia Grace. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Kesling, and her sister-in-law, Patricia McInerny. Also survived by nephew Jerrell Kesling (Meg), and nieces Dawn Holzknecht (Fred) and Sharon Downing, plus numerous children of the nieces and nephew.

Audrey was born in Merced, California, on October 18,1928, to Ralph and Blanche Beam. She attended Merced elementary schools and Merced High School. She graduated with academic honors from high school, and played varsity tennis as the number one girl's single on the tennis team.

In September 1946, she enrolled at the College of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Audrey loved her life at COP, but unfortunately, at the beginning of her junior year, her father unexpectedly died, and at the end of that academic year, she and her mother had to move to San Jose, where they had strong family ties. Audrey finished her college education at San Jose State University in January 1951, with a degree in elementary education.

She immediately started teaching at San Jose Unified School District, but in June 1951, she began what she always called her "great adventure." Audrey applied for and was accepted by United Air Lines into their very select stewardess program, and after being trained at Cheyenne, Wyoming, she began a career as a stewardess flying out of Newark, New Jersey, for United.

In February 1952, she left United to fly to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, to marry John, who was stationed there in the Army. Within several weeks of their wedding on February 8 ^th , John received orders for overseas duty in Korea, so Audrey relocated to San Francisco and began a retail career.

Upon John's return from Korea in January 1953, Audrey and John moved to Santa Clara University so John could resume his law school education. They took up residence in S.C.U.'s Vet Village, and Audrey resumed again her teaching career. She taught in the San Jose School District for several years and then transferred to Jefferson School District in Santa Clara as an elementary grade teacher. She advanced to the training program to become a vice-principal but decided to retire to try to begin a family.

In January 1967, the family moved to the home they had purchased in Saratoga several years earlier. Shortly thereafter, in March 1968, Margo joined the family, and later Timothy.

After the children were in high school, Audrey began a new career as an activities director at the Saratoga Senior Living Center, at Fellowship Plaza. Audrey held this position at Fellowship Plaza for fourteen years and then decided to retire. The day after her retirement, the Executive Director of the Senior Center for the city of Saratoga asked Audrey to join her staff as the Activity Director for that group, so Audrey began a new six year career there.

She finally retired for the last time and enjoyed her life reading historical biographies, playing bridge with various groups of friends, and taking cruises with John to wonderful varied places.

A Mass and celebration of Audrey's life will be held on 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 11th at Sacred Heart Church, 13716 Saratoga Ave., Saratoga Ca.  Burial will be at a later date.
