Betty Evelyn Coad was born in Columbus Ohio on November 11, 1924.  After a long illness, Betty passed away peacefully in her sleep in Cupertino, California on April 23rd, 2021 at the age of 96.  She is survived and will be greatly missed by her two sons, Jon and Tim, and her daughter Jennifer.  She had 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Her husband, John Coad, passed away in 2011 after 69 years of marriage.

Betty and her husband John taught their family to not only believe in God and Jesus Christ, but to follow our Lord's teachings.  She was a role model for Christian behavior and a loving, caring mother.  She was always learning and involved in her family and world events.  She had an active prayer life keeping those closest to her as well as her country in her prayers every day.

She loved the out of doors and children.  She actively encouraged her children and those in girl scouts, cub scouts, and in the neighborhood to learn, be happy and to be kind to one another.  She cared for the environment.  She encouraged others to give time and money to worthwhile causes as she did.

Betty was an outstanding mother, loving wife, Christian, and wonderful human being.  She made the world a better place by her behavior and teaching of others.  She was adventurous and even went backpacking overnight in her 80's.  Once her children were out of high school, Betty studied and received her AA degree at De Anza college.  Besides her family responsibilities, Betty worked many years of her life as a secretary.
