Carlos Eugene Garner, 89, of Saratoga, California, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, two days before his 90th birthday. Born October 26, 1935, in Bailey County, Texas, he was the son of Vester Eugene Garner and Jessie Leon Armstrong.

Carlos graduated from West Texas State University and married Nelia Neis in Plainview, Texas, in 1959. The partnership they forged remained his proudest accomplishment.

His career began at Texas Instruments and continued at Signetics and Litronics before he joined Plantronics, where he retired as Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations. After retirement he continued to share his know-how with a Silicon Valley startup, guiding young teams with steadiness and good humor.

Known for honesty, reliability, hard work, and a ready laugh, Carlos loved helping others. He found joy in woodworking, following sports, and perfecting BBQ for family gatherings.

Carlos is survived by his wife, Nelia Ann Garner; his children Carlos Eugene Garner Jr. (Anne) and Gregory Harold Garner (Heidi); grandchildren Shannon Kelly Maurás (Pedro), Kristin Anne Garner, Paige Garner Hoffmann (Colt), William Joseph Garner (Lindsey), and Katherine Eleanore Garner; and great-grandchildren Gabriella Renee Maurás, Denzel Elias Maurás, and Hollie Anne Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his siblings Billy Joe and Lois.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Saratoga Federated Church, 20390 Park Pl, Saratoga, CA 95070. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
