Obituary

Carol Adams was born in Akron, Ohio, to Robert and Ruth Adams. She attended St. Marys-St. Vincent  High School and graduated from Akron University, majoring in Elementary Education.  Her sister, Mary Lynn, preceded her in death in 1999.

She is survived by her friend and companion, Jeanne Williams, Saratoga, nieces Kimberley Bowman, Incline NV, Kristen Kelley, Carlsbad CA, grand-niece Sonya Mital and grand-nephew Kieran Mital as well as the entire Williams family:  Marilyn and Bill, Kimberly and Adrienne and their families.

Carol began her teaching career in Akron but falling in love with the milder climate in California moved west in 1959, teaching first in Oakland before her 34 years in Los Altos Elementary District where she taught third and fourth grades retiring in 1994.  She was known for her wonderful sense of humor as well as finding the proper quip to inspire smiles in the lunchroom.

Carol loved the outdoors, sports, photography, traveling and her family and friends.  Once her Parkinson's disease resticted her to her wheelchair, she depended on her faithful caregivers for her strolls in the neighborhood, admiring all the surrounding beauty and greeting passing neighbors and dogs.  Until her final days she continued to enjoy her sweet tooth, something she will always be fondly remembered for by her family and caregivers.

Carol is truly loved by the so many lives that she touched. In her memory

you may consider the Carol A. Adams Endowed Scholarship, University of Akron Foundation, Akron Ohio 44325-2603 for students who are pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education or a charity of your own choosing. Either would be greatly appreciated.
