Charlene Frances (Torley) Allen, 76, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022. Charlene was born in San Francisco to O. Raymond and Enid M. (Douglas) Torley on November 9, 1945. She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School in Mountain View and the University of San Francisco. While working in San Francisco she met and later married her husband of 48 years, Patrick R. Allen. They had two children, Katherine and Sean.

When Charlene was a teenager she was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis but despite many setbacks and surgeries, she was determined to live a full life. She worked for El Camino Hospital in Mountain View for over 35 years in the telecommunications department and travelled to Europe many times. Charlene was an amazingly kind and patient woman with a heart of gold. Her love and kindness touched the lives of many people who will miss her dearly. May her memory be a blessing.

Charlene is survived by her children Katherine Primas (Milton) and Sean Allen; her beloved grandchildren Sophia and Andrew Primas and David, Daniel and Justin Allen; sister Patricia Gentenaar (Peter), sister-in-law Barbara Holten (Jack); nieces Diana, Erin, Victoria, Trude, and Anne; and nephews Philip and Michael.

She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick, sister Diane Norris, brother-in-law Richard Allen, and nephews David Norris and Timothy Holten.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 11:30 am at the Alameda Family Mortuary, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga.
