Daksha Vyas of San Jose, California, passed away peacefully on June 20 ^th , 2018.

Daksha was born on November 9, 1943 in Ahmedabad, India and grew up in Khadia, Ahmedabad.  She was the only daughter of Hariprasad and Ansuyaben Vyas. She had an older brother Kirit, and has a younger brother Dilip.

She majored in Psychology at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. She worked at Indian Post & Telegraph Department.  On January 16 ^th , 1964, she married her wonderful husband Ashok.  They went on to have four children, Nimisha, Sonal, Minal and Akshay.

The family lived in several places around India – Ahmedabad, Baroda, Jamshedpur, Haldia (West Bengal) and Rajkot – before adventure and opportunity brought the family to San Jose, California in 1980.

They spent many wonderful years living and working in the Bay Area.  Daksha worked at many different companies before starting a job at Orchard Supply Hardware's corporate office, where she worked until she retired in the early 90s.

She has eight beautiful grandchildren, with each one of whom she shared a special bond.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, of family, and of friendship.  Sundays will never be the same without her joyful and loving presence. We will miss her!!!!
