I tell you these things so that in me you may have peace.
約翰福音16章33节:
我 將 這 些 事 告 訴 你 們 , 是 要 叫 你 們 在 我 裡 面 有 平 安 。
Ying Dao Ning was born in Shanghai in February 1935, originally from Yin County, Zhejiang. After graduating from the Mechanical Manufacturing Department of Zhejiang University in 1956, he remained at the University to teach and was promoted to professor in 1986. In May 1980, he visited the University of Wisconsin in the United States and served as a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. After returning to China, he served as deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Computer Graphics and CAD Laboratory of Zhejiang University, director of the Ronghang Mold High Technology Research Institute, deputy director of the CAD/CAM Research Center of Zhejiang University, director of the National CAD Professional Committee, and member of the European Computer Graphics Alliance EUROGRAPHICS. He also served as the technical general consultant of the "China Chengdu Mold Center" cooperated with the Federal Republic of Germany, and the managing director of Chengdu TV Electrical Appliances Group.
Professor Ying Daoning has taught many courses for undergraduates and graduate students, such as graphic geometry, engineering drawing, computational graphic geometry, computer graphics display, computer-aided design, and mold CAD/CAM machine-aided design and manufacturing. He has been a master's advisor since 1983, training many master and doctoral students. He edited "Computer Drawing Tutorial" and co-edited the textbooks "Mechanical Drawing" and "Drawing Geometry".
Professor Ying Daoning has been actively engaged in research work on computer graphics and CAD since 1982. The microcomputer graphics processing-AGS system he undertook from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Science Foundation won the second prize in the National Microcomputer Application Achievement Award in 1984. In 1985, the CPDDMS state cold stamping die CAD/CAM system commissioned by the Tianjin Mold Association was completed and presented at the International Conference on Computer-Aided Production Engineering held at the University of Edinburgh in April 1986. Received high praise. In 1986, the research on the PLAN-I product design automation core system was completed. Since 1988, it has focused on the research of high-precision and complex plastic mold CAD/CAM/CAE systems and has made great progress. It has also achieved preliminary results in real-time simulation of FMS flexible manufacturing systems and dynamic simulation of Robot robots.
Professor Ying Daoning was invited by the University of Princeton and the University of Wisconsin in the United States for short-term visits and lectures in 1986. He also visited the Federal Republic of Germany and the United Kingdom many times, and cooperated with the CAD Center and FMS Research Laboratory of the Machine Tool Research Institute of the University of Aachen and the production equipment of the Technical University of West Berlin. We also conducted academic exchanges and discussions with colleagues from the Institute of Design Technology (IPK) and the Computer-Aided Production Engineering Institute of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh in the UK. Professor Ying Daoning has published many papers in famous magazines and international conferences, such as Machine Design, CoDE Engineering Design Graphics in the United States, Computer and Graphics in Western Europe, and Computer Graphics Forum, etc. After retirement, Professor Ying Daoning went to the United States to reunite with his children and continued his teaching work at ITT Technical Institute.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and grandpa at home. He always took care of his family wholeheartedly. He is good at making delicious dishes, such as Dongpo Pork, Fried Shrimp in Oil, and West Lake Fish in Vinegar Sauce, which were all LouWaiLou-level masterpieces. He enjoyed listening to classical music, light music, playing bridge, photography and watching sports competitions. In his later years, he also liked to collect classic Leica and Rolleiflex cameras.
