Obituary

Dr. Deepali Gulati passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at Stanford Hospital, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with interstitial lung disease. She was 68.

Born in Patiala, India, Deepali earned her medical degree from Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi in 1979 and completed her postgraduate diploma at Maulana Azad Medical College in 1983. She dedicated her life to medicine and to her family, raising two sons who carry her legacy forward: Abhishek Gulati and Dr. Rishabh Gulati.

Above all else, Deepali was defined by how she loved. As a mother, a wife, a sister, and a friend, she gave without keeping score – putting everyone else's needs before her own, quietly and without complaint, in a way that those who knew her came to understand was simply who she was. Her love was unconditional and her care unwavering; family and friends alike knew that with Deepali, there was always a place at the table, always someone in their corner.

Music filled her life – she had a deep love for singing, and her voice brought comfort and joy to everyone who heard it. She loved to paint, and she had an eye for beauty in everything floral — flowers filled her home, her garden, and her art. She found beauty everywhere, and she made it wherever she went.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Anil Gulati; her sons and daughters-in-law, Abhishek and Sandra Gulati, and Rishabh and Breanna Gulati; her four grandchildren, Neil, Elina, Amelia, and Arjun, who were her greatest joy; and her siblings, Atul Dhablania, Ritu Bahri, and Vikas Dhablania; and her beloved sister-in-law, Dr. Manjula Gupta.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga, California 95070.
