Devyani Kamlesh Jhaveri, 82, passed away on May 14th, 2026 in San Jose, California where she lived for 45 years. She was an incredibly loved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Kamlesh, her son Anik, daughter Nilpa with partner Krispin, daughter-in-law Rutwa, and two grandchildren, Arya and Aanya. Devyani was born to Balubhai K Shah and Pushpa B Shah on November 17th, 1943 in Ahmedabad, India. She grew up there with her siblings Taxashila, Varsha, and Rashmin. On June 3rd, 1968 Devyani married Kamlesh Anubhai Jhaveri and moved to the United States where they built their life. Devyani worked as a Bank teller at Bank of America for 17 years, while raising her children. After retirement, she spent her time doing all the things she loved most in the world: caring for her family and nurturing her incredible garden, traveling, and filling her home with a variety of her artistic pursuits. Devyani adored good food, music, and dancing – most of all with her husband and family. She was incredibly creative, kind, and caring. She had a truly unrelenting spirit and was the bulwark of her family for 3 generations. She will be deeply missed for all the joy and love she brought to this world. Please join her family in saying goodbye and celebrating her extraordinary life at Alameda Family Funeral home at 12341 Saratoga Sunnyvale on Thursday, May 21st, 2026 at 10 AM.
