Donald Andrew Kowallis, 84, entered into eternal peace on November 10, 2017, with his family by his side in San Jose, California.

Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Donald was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Navy with honors.  It was while he was stationed in Japan that he met the love of his life, Toshiko.  They were married at the American Embassy in Tokyo and moved to California in 1959, when Donald was offered a job at Lockheed Martin.  During his thirty-year long career at Lockheed, he worked as a quality assurance engineer on the Hubble Space Telescope until its launch on April 24, 1990.

Donald was preceded in death by Toshiko, his beloved wife of 58 years, in December, 2016, and his son Donald Rick Kowallis in January, 2004.  He is survived by his daughters Carol Kowallis and Linda Wallace; son-in-law Gary Wallace; and two granddaughters, Selina Woggermon and Shannon Wallace.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Alameda Family Funeral Home 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road in Saratoga; Visitation will precede the services from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
