Doris, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, philanthropist and public servant, peacefully succumbed to her battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer at home, surrounded by family.

Doris' talents were many; she was an avid gardener, festive baker, creative seamstress, dedicated homemaker and so much more.  She was also adventurous and enjoyed traveling the world, having new experiences, and collecting art pieces.

Above all, Doris selflessly and continuously devoted herself to others.  She grew up in Montgomery, OH, graduated from University of Evansville in Indiana and then began her nursing career in Monterey, CA. On to Stanford, and then landed in Santa Clara County where she worked as a Public Health Nurse, RN, for 32 years.  Upon retirement, she continued to work as an advice nurse as well as at De Anza, West Valley & Evergreen Colleges.  Additionally, she served with the Los Gatos Assistance League; volunteering at and baking for the Senior Center, reading to children in classrooms and educating children in their on-campus gardens.

Doris is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John, her 3 daughters: Allyson, Elizabeth & Suzanna, and 6 grandchildren: Devin, Hailey, Jackson, Jasmine, Keira & Lucy.
