Elvin Dale Reamey, Lt. Col., USAF, ret., aged 97, of Saratoga, CA passed away from natural causes on September 14, 2016. He was born in Tulsa, OK on June 29, 1919 to Nora Ethel Reamey, and Jesse Elmer Reamey. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois Jean Reamey, of Saratoga, CA and his children Sally Wilcox of Eugene, OR, Barbara Tafe of Pompey, NY, Elvin Reamey of Ramona, CA and Susan Riley of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by his sister Ruby Potter, and his brother Roy Reamey, both of Tulsa, OK. Elvin also has eight grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Colonel Reamey was a 22 year United States Air Force veteran who served as a Command Pilot with the 307th Bomb Group during World War II in the South Pacific. He also did tours of duty in North Africa and Europe after the war. After retiring from the Air Force in 1960, he went on to engineering positions with Lockheed Missiles and Space Corporation in Sunnyvale, CA, Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco, CA, and Ralph M. Parsons Corporation in Pasadena, CA, with whom he worked for ten years in Saudi Arabia. After retirement from Parsons, Elvin returned home to Saratoga to spend a semi retired life, spending his time between working as a Security Supervisor for Applied Materials, Inc. and tearing up golf courses, and most likely fudging the score a bit, with his buddies. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga, CA 95070. Full military burial honors will be conducted graveside at 1:00 p.m. at Madronia Cemetery, 14766 Oak Street, Saratoga, CA 95070.
