Erna B. Pena, aged 77, had not been well for a while, but passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2017 at her home in Sunnyvale, California.

Erna was born in Munich, Germany on November 30, 1939 and came to the United States in December 1960. She considered California and the United States her home.

Erna was a loving mother to four; Liz Weinblatt, David Uribe, David Pena and Bryan Pena. A loving mother-in-law to Dan, Leanne and Sarah, and a loving grandmother of five; Megan, Tyler, Daniel, Makennah and Kyle.

She worked at Kaiser as a licensed vocational nurse for 40+ years. When she retired from Kaiser she wanted to keep busy and so she went to work at Costco and worked there until the end of her life. She made many friends there. In reflecting on Mom in conversations about her, she is loved for her quick wit and being able to speak her mind without reservation. What you saw was what you got with her. A blessing and a curse depending on which end of it you were on. hahaha

She had a generous heart and spirit and would gladly give you the shirt off her back if it would help.

She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. We wish we had had more time with you, Mom. But we know you are with those who have gone before you and having a great time…reminiscing, breathing freely and feeling good again. Until we meet again.
