Francis (Frank) Timmers, of Cupertino, CA, passed away March 8 from complications due to Parkinson's Disease. Frank had a distinguished 24-year research career at the Dow Chemical, where he was a prolific inventor, with 74 US-granted patents credited to his name. For his outstanding scientific contributions, Frank and his colleagues were awarded the prestigious 2015 ACS Heroes of Chemistry. He also loved woodworking, curling, photography, and staying active outdoors.
Frank is survived by his wife, Debbie, his brother, Jozef, his children: Henry Timmers and Margaret (and husband, Nicholas) Butko, and his grandson, Neil. Friends and family are invited to his memorial service at Alameda Family Funeral in Saratoga, CA on Saturday, March 12 at 11 am, which will be followed by a light lunch.
