Gayathri C R Ashwin (fondly aka Akshaya) was born on June 1, 1989 to Shanthi and Ramachandran in Udumalpet, India. Gayathri (34) passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2024. Gayathri shared her childhood days with her elder brother Arun Ramachandran. Her formative years also involved the enriching presence of her grandparents and numerous cousins. Gayathri was an adorable human being and her short 34 years was filled with dreams, aspirations, and accomplishments. Gayathri always excelled in academics and earned her Bachelor degree in Computer Science at Amrita College of Engineering, Coimbatore, India. She kick-started her professional career with an internship at Honeywell, Madurai, India and then joined IBM Software Labs, Bengaluru, India as a Software Engineer.

In 2014, Gayathri embarked on a new chapter of her life by marrying Ashwin. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, joy and shared experiences. After settling down in the San Francisco Bay area, Gayathri continued her educational journey. She earned her Masters from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She joined the innovative world of ServiceNow as a Software Engineer, contributing her skills and expertise to the tech industry.

Over the span of a decade, Gayathri and her loving husband, Ashwin, created a life replete with cherished moments and mutual growth. They traveled places, enjoyed nature, and built lasting memories. Gayathri helped build the foundation for starting the family. Their journey together epitomizes a harmonious blend of personal and professional accomplishments.

Gayathri was pure at heart, simple, compassionate, and down to earth. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up even the dark skies. She had a deep affection for pets, passion for nature, love for traveling, hikes, reading and an endless list of creative hobbies. She held a special admiration for Kalpana Chawla, a source of inspiration in her own pursuits.

Gayathri cared very deeply for her family and friends. She has touched many hearts in her life journey. She is survived by her baby daughter, husband, parents, brother and in-laws.
