Gerald Donald Lahann, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on September 19, 1931, in Tulare, California, Gerald lived a remarkable life, one full of passion, dedication, and service.

Predeceased by his loving wife Joyce Lahann (May 20, 1931 – December 7, 2024), Gerald leaves behind his children Gregory Lahann (Maureen), Mary Ann Lahann, Robert Lahann (Jeanne), Denae Wood (Mike), and his brother Don Lahann (Ron), family members, and friends who will carry his memory with love.

A man of many talents and interests, Gerald's journey began at a young age. At just 17, he was signed by the Boston Red Sox, a testament to his athletic abilities and determination. However, his path took a different direction in 1951 when he chose to serve his country in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served for five years.

After his military service, Gerald pursued higher education, graduating from San Jose State University and later earning a Master's degree in Math Education from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). His love for learning led him to a long and rewarding career as an educator, teaching high school math at Buchser and Peterson High Schools in Santa Clara, as well as San Jose City College. His students admired his dedication, patience, and ability to inspire a love of math.

In addition to his passion for teaching, Gerald was a successful real estate broker and investor. His keen business acumen and commitment to hard work led him to build a successful career, and he remained active in the real estate world for many years.

Throughout his life, Gerald was known for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. He touched the lives of countless individuals, always offering a listening ear and a helping hand when needed. Gerald's unwavering love for his family, coupled with his devotion to his community and his many pursuits, left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A private family service will be held to honor Gerald's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Gerald's memory to a charity of choice.

Gerald will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
