LOS GATOS - Gerlinde Krick, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday November 17, 2024 surrounded by her three daughters and grandchild.

Gerlinde was born on September 2, 1942, in Leskovec, Yugoslavia (now Slovenia).  She was the daughter of Franz and Maria (Kump) Zurl. Gerlinde lived in Ettendorf, Austria after World War II and then emigrated to the United States in 1952. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York where she graduated from All Saints Commercial High School. While working for the airline industry in her early 20s, her love of travel began with excursions to Peru, Brazil, Ireland, and London.

Gerlinde met Ewald Krick at the World's Fair in 1965. They married on June 1, 1968, in Unna, Germany.  Gerlinde and Ewald raised three daughters, Susan, Lisa, and Sylvia. She loved gatherings with family, gardening, and travel. She also enjoyed playing tennis, horseback riding, and bowling.

Gerlinde is predeceased by her parents, Franz and Maria (Kump) Zurl, husband Ewald Krick, her sisters Edeltraud Mandl, Magdalena Stolz, and Maria Roessler, and her brother Helmut Zurl.

She is survived by her children Susan Smith, Lisa Krick, and Sylvia Krick, grandchild Keith Smith, brother Herbert Zurl, as well as nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be celebrated Tuesday December 3, 2024, at 11:30 in the St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Los Gatos, California.
