Obituary for Han-Bing Chou ( 周漢濱 )

Han-Bing Chou passed away on Jan. 16, 2018 in San Jose, CA. Born on May 12, 1924 in Jian-Xi Province, China. He was 95 years old.

Han-Bing graduated from Chung-Zhen University in JianXi Province, China. His family moved to Taiwan in 1949. He served in the Air Force for many years and retired as a colonel. During his service he was awarded many times for his excellence of service. He then joined China Airlines as an engineer and retired in 1987.

For most of the time since his retirement more than 30 years ago, he had enjoyed relatively good health. However, since two years ago, old age has finally caught up with him. After a light breakfast and waiting to be dressed, he took his last breath on the morning of Jan. 16, peacefully.

Han-Bing was survived by his beloved wife, Jiung-Hwa, three children (Angela, Charlotte and Paul), six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Fortunately, two weeks prior, on Jan. 1, 2018, Han-Bing and Jiung-Hwa celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Materially, Han-Bing did not leave much to his family. As a middle-ranking military officer in Taiwan, and later an airline engineer, he never possessed much fame or fortune. He lead a frugal life style. Instead, it is his integrity, work ethics, sense of responsibility, his broad knowledge and his sense of humor that are his legacy for his family and friends. His words and deeds are the most treasured heritage.

Funeral service will be conducted at 9:00AM, Monday 29th of January, 2018, at Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation Home in Saratoga, CA. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery 22555 Cristo Rey Drive Los Altos, CA at 11:00AM following the funeral service.
