Hari Chand

Hari Chand of San Jose, CA passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2026, at the age of 91. He was born to beloved late Ram and Budhiya Narayan on April 24, 1935 in Suva, Fiji.

Hari spent his childhood in the Fiji Islands with his 5 brothers and 6 sisters. He attended Vatuwaqa Government Primary School through Class 5 and later attended the London School of Accounting. He later met his wife, Ram Kaur Prasad, whom he married in 1951. They raised three children: one son, Ukesh, and two daughters, Anita and Sunita. Hari was a dedicated professional who served as an Accounting Controller for Air Pacific Airlines for 25 years. He became a distinguished and respected member of Fiji’s national airline.

Hari immigrated to the United States in 1983 with his wife to build a beautiful life in San Jose, California, for his wife and children. His hobbies included collecting stamps and traveling.

As the patriarch of the family, he supported his siblings and children as they started their lives in America. Hari built a life rooted in love for his family, supporting them so they never lacked opportunities. He was the foundation of the family, instilling cultural and religious traditions into the many generations that followed and those yet to come. He touched the lives of many family members and friends, and his memory will be forever cherished by all.

He is survived by his children, Ukesh, Anita, and Sunita; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation, 12431 Saratoga Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga, CA 95070.
