James Meagher DDS completed his earthly journey on December 10, 2018 in Saratoga, California.  Born in Yakima, Wa in 1938, he moved to Saratoga in 1965 where he practiced dentistry for more than 40 years.  James was predeceased by his parents Dr. Angus and Glenna Meagher and sister Marilyn.  He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Janet Lee Meagher, son Thomas Meagher (Maria), daughter Tracy Murphy (Mark), grandchildren Sofia and Gavin Meagher and many wonderful friends and extended family.

James was a proud graduate of University of Oregon and received his professional degree from University of Pacific, San Francisco.  He had a long career with a loyal patient following. He enjoyed his tomato and pepper garden and grew the most beautiful roses.  He loved fishing, reading, and watching all sports.  He was the most amazing cook, had a knack for story telling, and had the best sense of humor.

He was known lovingly by many as Jim, Jimbo, Dad, Pop and Papa. He was so proud of both of his children and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He always treated people with respect and kindness, keeping his bonds of friendship strong.

James leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and love.  To honor him, take time to smell roses and spend time with loved ones enjoying a good meal (which he referred to as "good groceries"), and in doing so, remember Jim.  He died as he lived.....extraordinarily, with grace and dignity.
