Jerry
Streb
May 19, 1942 — Nov 5, 2025
Jerry passed away peacefully on November 5 after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. Throughout his illness, and especially during his time with Redwood Hospice since October 2024, Jerry faced each day with remarkable grace, optimism, and strength.
Jerry lived his life guided by honesty, integrity, and kindness. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gene and Helen Streb of Towson, Maryland, and by his stepson, Todd Kerkhof (Bob).
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 25 years, LuRhe, who was his steadfast partner in life and travel. He is also lovingly remembered by LuRhe's daughter, Tricia Fornesi, and grandsons, Rylan and Hudson; his sons, Kevin Streb (Darci) and Jeff Streb (Lauren); and granddaughters, Allison and Natalie.
Born and raised in Towson, Maryland, Jerry graduated from Towson Catholic High School. His passion for learning led him to earn a BSEE from Johns Hopkins University, an MSEE from Georgia Tech, and an MBA from the University of Southern California. Jerry dedicated his professional life to the technology industry, spending the last 25 years of his career at National Semiconductor before retiring in 2000.
Faith was an important part of Jerry's life. He was an active member of the Church of the Ascension in Saratoga, California, serving on the Finance Committee, Parish Council, and Building and Landscaping Committees. He also shared his faith as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister, roles he deeply cherished.
Jerry and LuRhe shared a love of travel and adventure, exploring every corner of the United States and Canada in their motorhome. Together, they visited all 50 states, all 7 continents, and nearly 100 countries—creating countless memories along the way.
A lifelong San Jose Sharks fan, Jerry proudly held season tickets from the team's very first day and cheered them passionately for more than 30 years, especially during their exciting run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2016.
