John Del Vecchio passed away peacefully at his home after 85 years of a wonderful, active and happy life.

John was born and grew up in Southbridge, Massachusetts. As a child, his nickname was "Jackie," and was often found hitting balls on the baseball field behind his house. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Engineering in June 1957, and a week later married his high school sweetheart, Constance (Plouffe) at Notre Dame Catholic Church in their hometown.   The couple left for southern California on their wedding day, where John had a job waiting for him in the Aerospace Industry in Palmdale, CA.  This was the first of many cross-country road trips for them.

John and his wife moved to Santa Clara, CA a year later.  He started a new job at Lockheed-Sunnyvale, where he built a successful career over the next 35 years.  During that time, he coached little league in Santa Clara and Saratoga, enjoyed making wine, working on home improvement projects and seeking out the best fishing holes as time permitted.   John also refined his business skills by earning his MBA from Santa Clara University.

After his retirement in 1992, he bought a RV and enjoyed traveling all over the US with his wife.  He was an avid fisherman and looked forward to fishing for salmon each summer. If he were here today, he would tell you the best fishing spots are on the Rouge River (Oregon) and Kenai, Alaska (at least, those were his two favorite spots).

He was a devoted father to his daughter Linda Navarini and her husband Donald, his son Michael and his wife Sheila.  He was a loving, grandfather to Elisa Addison and her husband Kyle, Laura Bailey and her husband Zachary, Juliana Navarini, and great grandson Jackson Addison. They will miss his epic milkshakes, eating breakfast with him at local cafes and listening to his many life stories. John was a man of strong faith, always did what was right and led by example.

He was good friend and touched many lives.  He will be incredibly missed by his family and friends.
