Obituary

Joseph M. Bratun of San Jose, CA, passed away peacefully from complications of dementia on June 17, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jane (Wilcox) Bratun, and his daughters, Kambi Hunter of DeLand Fla., and Kitina Wilcox of Sonora, CA and 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was brother to Beverly (Bratun) Atkinson of La Junta, Co., and Shirley Jane (Bratun) Wilson (Steve) of Aptos, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bratun and Angela (Tarchek) Bratun of Pueblo, Co.

Joe was born in Grand Junction, Co. and after the family moved to Pueblo, Co, he attended Pueblo High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Navy, where he served as a radar technician on a submarine before leaving the Navy to work at Cape Canaveral, Fla. in the launch room for the early rocket ship launches.

He later went on to work for IBM as a hardware and then as a software engineer until he retired to enjoy working in his garage, and his garden, refurbishing the family home, and reading.

You may have forgotten us, dear Joe, but we will always remember you with love and a smile.
