Obituary

Kalpana Shah, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 81.  Born on October 20, 1942, in Gujarat, India, Kalpana's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication to her family and community.

Kalpana embarked on her journey in education at a time when opportunities for women were limited. Despite the challenges, she became one of the first women in her family to pursue higher education, earning degrees in Psychology and Education.

Kalpana and her husband Rajanikant immigrated to the US in 1973.  Despite facing many hardships, through hard work and determination, the couple managed to build a beautiful life together in their adopted homeland.  They spent 30 years owning and managing a motel in Cape Girardeau, Missouri before retiring to Santa Clara, California to be closer to their only daughter, Nisha.

Kalpana was a beacon of love and compassion. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She nurtured her family with boundless affection, cherishing moments spent with Rajanikant, Nisha, son-in-law Nirave, and grandchildren Anura and Sai.

Kalpana's zest for life extended beyond her familial roles. She found joy in the simple pleasures of cooking, the tranquility of yoga, and the laughter shared with her loved ones. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself to caring for everyone around her, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

While her physical presence may be gone, Kalpana's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

Kalpana is survived by her loving husband Rajanikant, devoted daughter Nisha, caring son-in-law Nirave, and cherished grandchildren Anura and Sai, as well as a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
