Leslie Caryl Varr passed away at her home in Campbell, CA on August 8, 2018 surrounded by her family after a long battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 61. She will be remembered for her strength, mentorship, and drive to always put her family needs before her own.

Leslie had an inexhaustible supply of compassion that came through in both her personal and professional life. She received a Masters in Education and MBA from the University of Santa Clara and spent her early career as a special education teacher. She transitioned to the business sector and worked for 3Com, Apple, and Cisco Systems. She also volunteered her time as a member of the Board of Directors at Star One Credit Union.

Leslie was a mentor to other women diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She helped them through the difficult emotional process after diagnosis, empowered them by sharing the knowledge she had by having gone through the same process.

Her passions included family vacations, spending time with her grandchildren, and healthy cooking from her enormous collection of cookbooks.

She is survived by her husband, Chris, her siblings, Paula, Claudia, and Anthony, her sons, Brandon and Jason, her daughters in law, Lindsey and Alexis, and her grandchildren, Lilian and Gavin.

A memorial service will be held on August 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in San Jose. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leslie's name can be sent to Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 1260 Davis St, San Jose, CA 95126.
