Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel.  Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done for and though His servant Lois.

Lois Alma Anna Jud was given life by her Creator and was born on March 26, 1933, in Rochester, New York, the child of Henry and Gertrude Jud.  In infancy—on August 27, 1933—under the apple tree at her grandparents' home in Westwood, New Jersey, Lois received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God.  In her childhood and adolescence Lois lived in Rochester, New York, and in Henrietta, New York, graduating from Rush-Henrietta High School in 1950.  In those years (1945), Lois confessed her faith in the Rite of Confirmation and began to receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper.  Lois attended Valparaiso University, of Valparaiso, Indiana, and earned a B.A. in Medical Technology.  Thereafter Lois attended and earned an M.A. in Biochemistry from Washington University, of St. Louis, Missouri.

On August 29, 1964, Lois received the gift of a beloved companion in her spouse, Robert Stein.  Bob and Lois were blessed with the gift of children: Marla, Douglas, Karen, and David.  Lois and Robert lived their entire married life in Saratoga, California.  Besides her service as a beloved wife and mother, Lois worked as a medical technologist in chemistry at Rochester General Hospital, a researcher at Washington University Dental School, and a medical technologist in chemistry at San Jose Hospital (San Jose, California).

Since the mid-1960s, Lois was a communicant member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior (LCOS), Cupertino, California.   In this congregation of God's people, for decades Lois was fed and nourished by Jesus' Word and by His body and blood in Holy Communion.  She also served as a member of the choir, editor of the LCOS newsletter (Vineyard Life), as a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League Women's Guild, and as a quilter.  Lois enjoyed quilting, jigsaw puzzles, visiting national parks, and the company of dear family, grandchildren, and friends.  Finally, on October 15, 2020, God blessed Lois with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus Christ to await the resurrection of the dead.

Lois was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Gertrude.  She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Robert; by children Marla, Doug (Jun), Karen, (Chris), David (Lisa); by brothers Hank Jud and Richard Jud; by grandchildren Daniel, Grace, and Maya; and by other family members, neighbors, friends, and church family.

The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord.  We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister, Lois.
