Lonnie Snowden, resident of San Jose passed away on August 22 at the age of 92 surrounded by his children. He was born September 22, 1925 in Austin, Texas to Arthur Snowden and Mildred Kuban-Snowden. He was raised by Mildred and his Step Father Charles E. Mosher, known as Mo. He attended Jefferson Davis High School in Houston Texas and enlisted in the military at the age of 17. He proudly served during World War II in the Army and the Merchant Marines during two invasions, he was a deep sea diver and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. What an accomplishment! He started his working career in construction as a drywall installer and even helped build the home he raised his family in. After being injured, he studied to become an Electronic Technician and finished his working career at Hewlett Packard and Amdahl Corporation, retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his Sister Margie, (his brother Gene is deceased) children Rex Snowden (Neita Snowden), Gary Kendall (Sharon Ahern), Pam Snowden-Abella (Armando Abella), Jeff Snowden (Maria Jorge), 4 grandchildren – Chad Snowden, Blayne Price, Danielle Kendall, Nikole Kendall and 4 Great Grandchildren – Lainey, Hayden, Spencer, Ellie.

He loved dancing, being with people and helping others. He spent a lot of time at the local Senior Center getting together with friends and gathering for much loved social activities where he met his longtime girlfriend Shirley Avona.

Lonnie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at the Alameda Family Funeral Home, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga on August 30 ^th at 10:30am.
