Obituary

Mrs. Manju Goyal, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend and a kind soul passed away on Sunday, Aug 26th 2018 from heart failure at the Stanford hospital.

She was born in Beawar, India in 1954. She has three brothers. She finished her high school at the Agarwal Kanya Pathshala. She married Mr. Ram Charan Goyal in 1972. She has two children, Rashmi (daughter) and Amit (son). In 1974, she moved to New Delhi and lived there till 1983. She lived in Libya from 1983-1986 while her husband was a professor in Tripoli. Her husband came to USA for a Ph.D in 1987. For the first two years, she lived in Jaipur and Ajmer in a joint family to take care of her kids. Then, she moved with her kids to USA to join her husband. The family lived in Illinois from 1989-1995, where her husband, daughter and son got their professional degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She moved to the San Francisco bay area in 1995 and made a home here.

Mrs. Manju Goyal was a skilled home maker and provided the foundation of love and care that allowed her family to thrive. She was known for her compassion and acts of service. While she lived a simple life, she loved to buy thoughtful gifts for others. Her extended family and friends in USA and India cherished her. She was known for cooking delicious Indian food, which she made with love. Her hospitality and generosity won many hearts throughout her life. Even though she battled with diabetes, high blood pressure and pain for many years, her passion for cooking for others never dimmed.

She is survived by her husband, two children, four grand-children and a large & loving family and friend circle who will always remember her fondly.

There will be an open-casket visitation, Hindu service and cremation on Wednesday, August 29 th 2018 at Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation, Inc.

Hindu service: Starts 10:30 AM
Cremation :               Estimated at 12:00 PM
