Peggy Kelly passed away peacefully on August 18, 2018 with her family surrounding her. She was born and grew up in The Bronx, NY, a fact that was a point of pride for her. Her parents, Ted and Liz O'Shaughnessy came to New York in the early 1900's from the west coast of Ireland. She attended catholic schools until her graduation from high school.

Peggy met her husband of 54 years, John, in a local Rathskeller and they were married in 1952. Peggy continued to work as a legal secretary while John started his 38 year career with the Quaker Oats Company. The spent the first 25 years of their marriage in New Jersey and then moved to Saratoga in 1977. John passed away in 2005.

Peggy and John were blessed with four children: Jack and his wife Lori (Fresno), Maura (Phoenix), Terry (Reno), and Tim and his wife Val (Los Gatos). They also have four grandchildren (Andrew, Katie, Megan, and Aidan) and two great-grandsons (Hunter and Noah).

Peggy was a homemaker, wife, and mother but she always found a way to make some "pin money" for clothes. Peggy was very generous with her time volunteering with the PTA, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Assistance League, among others.

A mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 with a private reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities.
