Margaret Pugh, 90, passed away on February 3, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California surrounded by family. She will be dearly missed by a wide circle of friends and family around the world.

Born on November 30, 1926 in Hong Kong to John William and Mary Ho Wheeldon, Margaret grew up in Hong Kong.  She graduated from Diocesan Girls' School in 1946. After graduation she worked in the offices of Mollers' as a private secretary until the excitement of travel resulted in her signing on with Cathy Pacific Airways. She was one of the original 6 stewardesses for Cathay.  Her flight routes took her all over Asia in a DC-3 during these early days of aviation -- resulting in many adventures and life-long friendships. Margaret flew for Cathay until her marriage in Feb 1954.
Margaret married Claude F Pugh at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong.  They were very happily married for 24 years until Claude passed away in 1978 due to cancer.  Margaret spent the first half of her life in the Orient (Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Japan) where Claude was in management of Northwest Airlines operations. Moving in 1969 to Sunnyvale, CA she then resided in Bay Area until the present time.  Margaret was a true dynamo during her entire life with many interests ranging from cooking, playing Mah Jong, traveling, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her son Michael (Janet) Pugh of Pleasanton, CA; her son Mark (Kristin) Pugh of Los Gatos, California; her grandson Matthew (Veronica) Pugh; and her granddaughter Jacqueline (Pugh) and Michael Wolking of Washington DC.
A celebration of life event will be held at History Club of Los Gatos on March 3rd.
Margaret will be interred with Claude at the Saratoga Community Cemetery (Madronia).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the ASPCA
