Marian S. Donkerbrook, age 96, of San Jose, went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2019. Services for Marian will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019, starting at 10 a.m. at The San Jose Christian Reformed Church, 5150 Camden Ave., San Jose. Graveside Service immediately following at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Marian was born the daughter of Ray Schurman and Cornelia Sluis on September 3, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois. She was a graduate of Chicago Christian High School. On August 25, 1944, she was united in marriage to Robert Donkerbrook. She worked for the Santa Clara County Office of Education for over 15 years, and retired as an account Clerk II.

Marian loved her family, her CCHS Fidelius Club Girls, cooking, baking and gardening. She especially had a tremendous love for all her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Kamp, and her children: Cindy (Charles) Herbert, Diane Snider, and Robert Jr. (Cheryl) Donkerbrook; her Grandchildren Deborah (Brad) Johnson, their children, Trevor and Cassandra; Aaron Spurling, his daughter, Makena; Alyson Spurling, her sons Kaleo and Peter; Ryan (Lindsay) Weeks, Casey and Jamie Snider; John (Karen) Herbert and their children, Pearl, Samuel, Miles, Hannah, and Gabriel; Joshua (Ellie) Herbert and their son, Mason; Keri (Nathan) Martin and their son, Carter.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr., her siblings Everdeen Laniniga, Ethel Bruinius, and John Schurman, and by her first born child, Carol Weeks.
