Marjorie passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2018. Born in Los Angeles, California on January 29, 1924 to Grant L. and Grace M. Dusto, she was a native Californian and a resident of Saratoga and Los Gatos. Much loved mother to Karen Crampton, Scott McManus (Elizabeth), Susan Ryan (Christopher), Lisa Cobb (Timothy) and Brett McManus. She was the proud grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 4.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, John P. McManus, her sister Barbara Ann Coutts, son-in-law, Ronald A. Crampton, and daughter-in-law, Pamela J. McManus.  Also survived by sister Melinda Chase (Dana), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marjorie graduated from San Mateo High in 1941 and went on to JC. She worked as a fine welder in a radar tube factory during WWII and volunteered with the USO. In 1948, she met Navy Lt. McManus on a blind date; they were married in June 1949.

She was active in the Women's Guild of Our Lord of the Nativity Catholic Church in Menlo Park and past President of the Menertons, both in the 1960's. She devoted many hours to various women's golf groups in Santa Clara Valley, playing well into her 80's.  She collected antiques, was a gifted seamstress and needle worker, and a skilled bridge player. Marjorie maintained many lifelong friendships.

Her family is grateful to have inherited her passion for life and family, as well as her intelligence and wit. Along with Dad, they gave us the legacy of a happy and safe home and tough love guidance. Mom was vivacious, confident and beautiful. She lived her later years with true gratefulness, often saying, "How can I be so lucky?"

Memorial service to be held Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Saratoga, CA. Reception to follow. Colorful attire please.
