Michael
Slosek
Jul 28, 1946 — Jan 7, 2023
Michael Slosek, 76, passed away suddenly on Saturday January 7, 2023, during an annual trip to his favorite tech conference, CES in Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 25 years and his three children, Candice, Milinda and Marcus, and two stepchildren, Derek and Samantha.
Michael (Mike) was born and raised in San Diego, CA. After high school, he wanted to serve his country and was one of a select few accepted to the prestigious United States Military Academy at West Point; he also received a degree in Applied Mathematics from San Diego State University. For nearly 40 years, Mike worked in the consumer electronics industry and loved all things tech. As a Senior Director of Sourcing for many different Silicon Valley tech companies, Mike traveled the world and was responsible for working on some of the most iconic consumer products including the Diamond Rio, TiVo DVR and Roku streaming player. Mike was loved by so many. He was the quintessential California 'beach boy' and loved the ocean, always so full of life and one of the most caring, generous people to exist. When life required it, Mike was one of the strongest people and he always looked at challenges and life optimistically with his favorite saying being "Life is Good."
Among his best memories were the ones that he and Linda created together. Mike was always encouraging Linda to try a new adventure and they traveled the world together with trips to Taiwan, Hawaii, Mexico, Paris, Singapore, and Canada to name a few. They ate at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, climbed the Great Wall of China, snorkeled in Cabo and Maui and attended F1 in Singapore. Mike retired in June 2022 and he planned to spend his retirement with Linda making more traveling memories.
Now, our beloved father and husband Mike is in Heaven and making his own new memories as he plays with his favorite dog Ace. We will never forget him. He is so loved.
