Mitchell Robert Miljevich
"The Marshal of Tombstone"

Mitchell was born on March 23, 1953, in San Jose, California, and walked his last patrol on October 18, 2022, in San Jose. The only child of Nicholas M. Miljevich and Patricia McLane Miljevich Ruch (stepfather, Ernest Ruch), Mitchell lived his entire life in Saratoga and San Jose, with his early years spending time at his family's orchard. As an adult, Mitchell became a night security patrolman and had over a 30-year career in the private security profession. He was an enthusiastic recycler, joining efforts with family, friend's, neighbors, and anyone who would contribute to his ongoing recycling projects. Mitchell was extremely frugal and an early interventionist of the term "green," in many ways. He was exceptionally proud of his excellent status from PG&E, for home efficiency use. Mitchell was an avid reader, and was well versed on a variety of facts and history. He was also passionate about the era of the Wild West, and found great joy during his many vacations to Tombstone Arizona, where he enjoyed dressing in western attire and frequenting the merchants with $1 gold coins and $2 bills. He spent hours educating the tourists about Tombstone's famous history, and many locals were impressed by his extensive knowledge.
In addition to his love of Tombstone, Mitchell also studied aviation history and supported The Collins Foundation's efforts to preserve historical aircraft. He looked forward to their annual tours and air shows, and made over 10 flights in their restored B-17 Bomber Aircraft.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his grandparents, and parents, and is survived by his half-brothers, Luke, Chris, Zar, and Nicky Miljevich; neice and nephews, Mara, Savo, Alex, and Max Miljevich; and, cousins Theodore Miljevich and Christine Miljevich Bush; and Lorraine McLane Boggs, and Kathleen McLane Thatch.

Viewing services will be held on November 14, 2022 between 1-2 pm, at the Alameda Family Funeral Home, 12342 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga, California, followed by procession to the gravesite burial at Madronia Cemetery, 14766 Oak St., Saratoga, California.
