Olen (Len) Neil Wishon passed away on November 17, 2021 at the age of 88. Len Wishon, also known to his close friends as "Big W" was born on April 12, 1932 in Oklahoma to Lonzo and Eva Wishon. Len's family moved from Oklahoma to California in the mid-1930s as his father followed work in the oil business. From there Len's family moved to Ceres, California to run a dairy farm. Len loved to tell stories about the many chores he had to do on the farm. Eventually, the family moved to Modesto and then finally to Sunnyvale, Ca where Len attended Fremont High School. Len, an outstanding athlete in his youth, played basketball and football in high school. Len enlisted in the USAF after he graduated from Fremont High school in 1951. Immediately following his discharge in 1955, Len met his beloved wife, Carmen Moreno Wishon, when he returned to Sunnyvale. Len and Carmen were married in 1957 and soon after started their family and their business, Cupertino Tile. In his retirement years, Len helped coordinate the annual Fremont High School Alumni Golf Tournament and BBQ. Len had many interests, but his favorite hobbies included following all college and professional sports, attending sporting and school events of his grandchildren, bartending at his son's restaurant -The Malibu Grill, gambling trips to Reno, listening to music and dancing with his wife, and above all spending time with his family that he was so proud of.
Len is survived by his three children, Vicki Wishon Bryant, Carla Wishon, and Rich Wishon. His six grandchildren Shelby Roy, Jaime Mackey, Jon Bryant, Allison Bryant, Kristen Bryant, and Chase Wishon and his four great-grandchildren Daniel, Catherine, Andrew, and Adley. Len was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carmen, who passed almost eleven months to the day prior to his passing. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo and Eva Wishon and his six siblings – Robert, Clifford, Betty, Bill, Ed, and Carolyn.
Unfortunately, due to the current virus restrictions a Celebration of Life and Love for Len and his beloved wife Carmen is on hold. The family is requesting in lieu of sending flowers, donations can be made to Kaiser Hospice Care, Santa Clara.
