Oswald J. Cormier, 90, peacefully passed away with his daughter, Pierrette Cormier, by his side.  Oswald (Ozzie) was born on January 1, 1927 to Germaine and Edouard Cormier in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.  He was one of 11 children. Four sisters and one brother survive him.

He is survived by his daughter, Pierrette Cormier of San Jose, California, his sons Richard Cormier of Boulder Creek, California, and Ronald (Lisa) Cormier of Walnut Creek, California. His daughter, Darlene Baker, predeceased him in 2015. He leaves behind Adrienne (Martin) Johnson-Murray whom he was previously married to and numerous nieces and nephews. Ozzie is also survived by dearest friends, Holly and the late Burton Raynes and children, Cheryl, Rick, and Michael. The Raynes family has been lifetime friends since the Cormier family settled in San Jose.

In 1964 he packed his 4 kids, wife and all their belongings in a station wagon and trailer and traveled cross country to San Jose in search of better opportunities. He found employment with Owens Corning Fiberglass for 25 years as a QC Inspector. He retired in 1988.

Ozzie loved having a meticulous lawn and since he was retired, he would mow all the neighbor's lawns.

He was a huge fan of the Montreal Canadians. He had the hockey league pass, two 50 inch screen TVs and his buddies, Harold, Rich, and Eric come to his house to watch hockey games on both screens. That was retirement life for Ozzie!

Ozzie was a caring and generous person who will always be remembered by those who loved him.

Services for Oswald will begin Monday, May 1, 2017 with visitation from 12 pm – 9 pm, Rosary at 7 pm at Alameda Family Funeral, 12341 Saratoga Sunnyvale Rd, Saratoga. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11 am at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Ave, San Jose.

Private interment will be at Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes, Washington State.
