Reeta Gupta, 61, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, June 9, 2023, after a courageous battle with gallbladder cancer.

Born in Ujjain, India, February 20th, 1962, she was the daughter of Mr. Santosh Kumar Gupta and Mrs. Raj Kumari Gupta.

Reeta completed her doctorate degree in Organic Chemistry from APS University in Rewa, India in 1988. Sharing her love of knowledge, she built a career as an instructor of Organic Chemistry at San Jose State University for 9 years. Reeta later transitioned into technical recruiting for McAfee and Symantec, retiring in 2017 after many years of service.

Reeta was blessed with a green thumb and could often be found outside tending to her countless plants, flowers, and seedlings. Her garden is a lasting oasis for friends and family. When not working in the yard, she enjoyed crafting items for loved ones, either by knitting, sewing, or Cricut machine. Reeta enjoyed many trips to Monterey Bay, her favorite place to watch the sun set over the ocean. She was a proud and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family. We will miss her forever.

Reeta is preceded in death by her father, Mr. Santosh Kumar Gupta.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Mr. Praveen Gupta; her son, Mr. Ankur Gupta and wife, Mrs. Kayla Gupta; her grandson, Aidan Gupta; also surviving is her mother, Mrs. Raj Kumari Gupta; her sister, Mrs. Himanshu Gupta and her husband, Mr. Sunil Gupta; her brother, Mr. Rajeev Gupta and his wife, Mrs. Rachna Gupta; her brother-in-law Mr. Rajiv Gupta and his wife, Mrs. Rashmi Gupta; and several nieces and nephews.

A Hindu ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. U.S. P.T. Thursday, June 15th, at Alameda Family Funeral and Cremation, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd., Saratoga, with Pandit Ji Anand Balram Sharma officiating. All friends and family are welcome to join.
