Rick was born in Rapid City, South Dakota and spent his childhood in both Santa Clara, California and Yankton, South Dakota.  After earning his degree in Business from San Jose State University, Rick joined the family insurance business.  In 2004, he established McKenna and Associates Insurance in Saratoga.

While Rick worked very hard, his greatest legacy will be his love for and dedication to his family. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mollie, sons Matthew and Patrick, their wives Simone and Rachel, and his granddaughter Makenzie. He is preceded in death by his parents Walt and Ruby, brother Ron, and daughter Kilty.

A memorial mass in celebration of Rick's life will be held at 10am on Friday, July 27, at Sacred Heart Church, 13716 Saratoga Ave., in Saratoga, CA with Father Gary Thomas officiating.  A reception will immediately follow at Sacred Heart's Parish Center.
