Rose Kozuk (nee Bucar), 93, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Cupertino, California on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

She was born in Cerklje, Slovenia on September 26, 1928, and emigrated to the United States in 1964.  She was married to her husband, Paul, for 26 years until his passing in 1990. She was a resident of Waukegan, Illinois, for 34 years and a former member of Mother of God Church, before moving to Cupertino in 1998.  She was also a member of St. Mary's KSKJ Lodge #79.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Jonathan) Sauer of Cupertino; two grandsons, Matthew and Eric Sauer of Cupertino; two sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces in Florida, North Carolina, and Slovenia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents, Janez and Marija, three brothers and five sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Monday, October, 3, 2022 at Alameda Family Funeral & Cremation, Saratoga, CA.  Burial arrangements in Illinois entrusted to Gurnee Salata Funeral Home.  A private burial will be at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.  This cause was dear to Rose because of close family members who suffered from this disease.
