Samuel "Sam" Fisher passed away on October 10, 2024 at the age of 89.
Sam was born March 6, 1935 to the late Frank and Esther Fisher. He was one of six children and grew up in Shinnston, West Virginia. He is survived by his brother Frank and sisters Jean and Mary. He attended Shinnston High School, graduating in 1955.
Sam married the love of his life, Faye, on November 6,1959. Together they raised four children, welcoming their spouses into the family, as well as nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Faye preceded Sam in death in January 2024.
Sam joined the Army in 1957 and became a member of the Army National Guard after basic training. He became a cook serving for the National Guard until 1963. His cooking skills were always on display at our many family events.
Sam was hardworking and started his career as a plasterer eventually starting his own company, Fisher Lath & Plaster. He and Faye built this company into a successful business for 50 years. They went on to other business ventures including pistachio trees which are still thriving today.
Sam loved sports and avidly watched the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and love for his family.
Sam will be inurned at Madronia Cemetery in Saratoga, CA during a private family service.
