Shri R. Thiagarajan was born in Nagapattinam, India and his early years were in Kumbakonam. One of the first members of his family to graduate from college, he moved to Bombay to pursue a career and raise his family while also helping many others from his extended family find their calling. He was passionate about Carnatic music and continued his training in music and became a graded artist for All India Radio. He also has several compositions to his credit that he later compiled into a book, as his legacy to his family. A dedicated husband and father to his family, an inspiring teacher to his students, and a loving grandfather, Shri Thiagarajan will be remembered fondly. May his soul attain sadgathi.
