Obituary

San Jose, CA – Shuet Fan Chan, 86, died on Tuesday, April 2 nd , 2019 at Kaiser Permanente, San Clara after a long struggle with kidney illness.

Mrs. Chan was born in Guangzhou, China, but spent most of her early life in the formal British Colony Hong Kong.   Mrs. Chan and her husband were childhood friends.  Mrs. Chan briefly left Hong Kong due to the WWII, but returned after WWII ended.   She later reunited with Mr. Chan, married and started a family.  Mrs. Chan was an accountant before marriage, but quit her job to raise their three young children.

In the late 1970s, Mr. Chan was an Engineer and immigrated to the United States due to a job relocation. The family has resided in the Santa Clara County since their arrival to the United States.

Mrs. Chan loved good food, practice Tai Chi, and enjoyed old classic movies especially in Chinese Opera.

Mrs. Chan was preceded in death by her husband, Chi Hung Chan.  She is survived by three children, Wayne, Winnie and Zita Chan, and five grandchildren,  all of whom live in Northern California, and brought great joy to her later years.
