Simone Hayes, 93, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025 at Kaiser Hospital in Santa
Clara. She was born to Messod Rbibo and Messoda Zrihen in Marrakesh, Morocco.
She had three brothers—Jacob, Solomon and Maurice—and one sister, Leia.
She lived in Morocco for most of her early life, with a brief stay in France, before moving
to Houston, Texas, sponsored by a local couple. She worked at Schlumberger in the
Reproduction Department, where she met the love of her life, John Wesley Hayes. The
two married in 1957 and soon after moved to California, where they built a life and
raised three beautiful children.
Simone worked as an Avon sales representative for 55 years, up until the days before
her passing. She was known as a stellar saleswoman, earning multiple awards
including awards for top seller in the county. A true socialite, she was actively involved
in her community – a member of various French clubs, gourmet groups, bridge club and
she proudly served as the Welcome Wagon for her new neighbors. She and John were
avid world travelers, enjoying cruises and adventures across the globe, creating lasting
memories together through their love of exploration.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Hayes. She is survived by
her daughter, Michele (Rick), her sons Jack (Julie) and Robert (Cindy), and her seven
grandchildren: Jennifer (Daniel), Michael, Nicole, Miranda (Eian), Jessica, Rachel, and
Stephanie. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Wesley, Liliana, and Mia.
Simone's memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Almaden Family Funeral, 12341
Saratoga Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga, CA 95070, on Tuesday, May 6 at 1:00 p.m. Burial
will follow at Madonna Cemetery, 14766 Oak Street, Saratoga, CA 95070, with
reception to follow.
