On Tuesday, Feb. 9th, Stephen Jasper died peacefully surrounded by loved ones just days after celebrating his 72nd birthday and 47th wedding anniversary.
He will be remembered always for his dependability, strength of spirit, fortitude, sense of humor, great friendships, family values, generosity and fondness of basketball, BBQ, classic corvettes, downhill bike rides, chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream.
He leaves behind his wife Margaret and three children: Chris Jasper, married to Kathy Yen; Jennifer Jasper Smith, married to Mark Smith, Lisa Brooks (adopted), married to Troy Herrera; he also leaves behind two grandchildren: Kaitlin and Hudson, as well as a beloved brother-in-law Landis Mahaffey, his wife Berit and their two daughters, Khalan and Annalina.
Born and raised in Carollton, Kentucky, he is predeceased by his parents and brother.
He earned an undergraduate engineering degree from Tulane University. After a brief assignment in Texas, he moved to California with his wife Margaret, where he secured an MBA from Santa Clara University. He spent the rest of his life in Silicon Valley building a successful career in semiconductor sales and marketing, raising a family, and generously welcoming many in times of need into the family home, several of whom have become beloved "bonus" family members and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19th, at Sacred Heart Church in Saratoga, Calif. A reception will follow in the parish reception center.
